Wilmersdorf

The other half of the new Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough, Wilmersdorf is one of the richest areas in Berlin. If you are wanting to go to swanky department stories and elegant cafe bars, this is the district to visit and has been since the mid 19th century. Koenigsallee for example is home to several tasteful hotels and boutiques.

Wilmersdorf is also home to the peaceful tranquillity of Grunewald, both a peaceful neighboroughood and also a forest within the city limits. It is here that the wealthy locals enjoy relaxing walks or a game of tennis. The forest is rich in wildlife, home to wild boar, deer, foxes and a stunning variety of bird life.

Wilmersdorf is also known for its large Jewish population and most of Berlin’s Jews live in this borough.
